Arthroereisis (subtalar) for flat feet
Subtalar arthroereisis for flatfeet in children, also known as calcaneo-stop or endorthesis, is a surgical procedure aimed at correcting flatfeet (and valgus feet) by limiting excessive pronation of the heel relative to the talus. This procedure involves inserting an implant into the tarsal sinus (in the space between the talus and the calcaneus, or in the talus or the calcaneus), which helps lift the arch of the foot and realign the hindfoot.
