The Headquarters

The OrthoChildren Center is located within one of Bologna’s most futuristic architectural complexes, with the distinctive silhouette of the city’s tallest skyscraper, now a landmark for anyone passing through Bologna.

At the base of this glass structure, the Dyadea-Santagostino Center has developed a dedicated pediatric unit, the Pediatric Center, staffed by professionals with expertise in this field. The OrthoChildren Center is located within this facility.

Clinical Activities

At the OrthoChildren Center – Bologna we carry out:

Outpatient Activity

  • Orthopedic visits: first visits, check-ups
  • Hip ultrasound: screening, check-ups, second opinions, and related treatments for hip dysplasia (application of spreaders and casts)
  • Corrective treatments with casts and braces for foot deformities: clubfoot (Ponseti method: doctors certified by the Ponseti International Association), vertical talus, metatarsus varus, etc.
  • Follow-up of patients undergoing limb lengthening
  • Possibility of performing radiographic exams during the visit. In the case of specific exams, patients are positioned by the team doctors, thus avoiding unnecessary or incorrectly performed examinations.

Surgical activity

  • Achilles tenotomy for congenital clubfoot under local anesthesia
  • Surgical interventions under the Day Surgery regime, privately or through health insurance
