Skeletal dysplasias are a group of genetic disorders that primarily affect the skeletal system, resulting in impaired bone growth. They are a highly heterogeneous group of conditions, ranging from very mild (sometimes diagnosed in adulthood) to very severe.

Skeletal dysplasias: orthopedic treatment

Orthopedic treatment of skeletal dysplasias requires experienced orthopedic centers that can distinguish between the various dysplasias and apply all the various surgical techniques based on the specific problem present:

  • epiphysiodesis, osteotomies, progressive correction with external fixators, lengthening, etc.
